Do you think Electric cars are green?

We all understand there is battle going on which source of energy is better to address global warming. I just want to share my opinion, you can comment if you think I am wrong. I have done little bit search and found that electrical power is still being produced from coal or gas. The best use of solar power will be transforming the power station to hybrid power station. The second source of fuel should always be considered as emergency back up. We must learn from recent power crisis in Texas US. It is very easy to program that we use Solar Power when available and switch to other sources when not available.

I am not convinced with idea of electric cars. If you have enough Lithium cobalt and Nickle then battery banks should be used to store power at electrical power stations not in cars. The very first question I often look for is what is maximum life span of a battery.

Five year to ten years at maximum at standard conditions. In reality the life of a battery is 300-500 charge recharge cycles not in years. The recent heat wave has raised other question can you expect the same kilometer range with AC on in summers and heat on in the winters as you claim?

The use of solar power makes more sense if used in production of electric power in power stations. Vehicle run better on gas because you can not even compare power of an electrical vehicle with internal combustion engine. Raw material of batteries exist in traces in core. The amount of energy used to extract them in pure form and pollution produced in the process may be way more than using gasoline in vehicles.

I have expressed my opinion. You may or may not agree, if so please comment on this post and increase my knowledge of the subject.

45 ਸਾਲ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਹ ਵਾਸਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ  ਉੱਠਿਆ  ਹੱਥੀਂ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਕੰਡਿਆਲੀਆਂ ਝਾੜੀਆਂ ਕੱਟ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਰਾਹ ਬਣਾਏ। ਫ਼ਸਲਾਂ ਉਗਾਈਆਂ ,ਕਮਾਦ   ਪੀੜ ਗੁੜ ਕੱਢਿਆ। ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ  ਤੇ ਨਿਕਲ  ਪਿਆ  ਇਕੱਲਾ  ਹੀ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ।  ਨੌਕਰੀ  ਲੱਭਣ  ਨਿਕਲਿਆ  ਤਾਂ ਅਜੇ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰਪੁਰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੂਰਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ। 

ਪੂਰਾ ਯਕੀਨ ਸੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਉੱਤੇ। ਪਿਛਲ਼ੇ  ਦਹਾਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ।  ਅਗਰ ਇਹ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਅਫਸੋਸ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਸੀ। ਅਫਸਰਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਦਾ ਬੇਵਜ੍ਹਾ ਡੰਡਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਗਿੱਟਿਆਂ ਗੋਡਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਖੜਕਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।  ਅੱਜ ਵੀ challenge ਕਰਦਾ  ਅਗਰ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ skill ਅਤੇ hard work  ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਸਾਲ ਚ ਪਛਾੜ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਮਹਾਂਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ।  

2019 ਵਿਚ ਅੱਕ ਕੇ UCP ਪਾਰਟੀ  join ਕਰ ਲਈ।   ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਸਲਾਹ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨੇੜੇ ਤੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਜਿਹਾ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਕੇ Vancouver BC  ਖੱਬੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਦਾ ਦਾਬਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਾਫੀ bullying ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।  ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਸੱਜੇ ਵੱਲ ਹੋ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਸੀ। ਫਿਰ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ community ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਨਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਭੁਗਤ ਜਾਵਾਂ  ਕਦਮ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਟਾ ਲਏ ਤੇ membership  ਤੋਂ ਨਾਮ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। 

Federal  Level ਤੇ CPC  ਵੀ join  ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ membership  May  2024 ਤੱਕ active ਹੈ।  ਮੈਂ actively  involve ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਨ। 

1.  Federal Level ਤੇ ਇੱਕ Issue report ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।  ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਵਿਚ ਕਨੂੰਨ  ਹੈ  ਕਿ  ਕੋਈ ਵੀ non -certified  Electrical product ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਚ ਸਕਦਾ। 

ਪਰ  ਇੱਕ online store  ਨੇ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ  ਇਲੇਕ੍ਟ੍ਰਿਕਲ product  ਵੇਚੇ ਇਹ declare ਕਰਕੇ ਕੇ ਇਹ CSA  Canada  ਤੇ ETL Canada  certified ਹਨ।  Delivery ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਕੋਈ certification ਨਹੀਂ ਭੇਜੀ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ stamp ਸੀ । ਇਹ ਮੁੱਦਾ CSA   Safety Codes  Council  Canada  ਅਤੇ Municipal  Inspection  department  ਨੂੰ report  ਕੀਤਾ।  CPC  ਨੂੰ report ਕੀਤਾ  ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕਨੂੰਨ book ਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ  ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।  ਜੇ ਇਹੀ ਗਲਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ  As Installer ਹੋਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ $10,000 ਜੁਰਮਾਨਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ ਜਾ ਮੇਰਾ certificate  suspend ਹੋਣਾ ਸੀ।  ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ 100 ਘੰਟੇ  500 product ਦੀਆਂ specifications ਚੈੱਕ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ order ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।  ਮੈਨੂੰ  ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ  ਮਿਲਿਆ।  ਮੈਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਨਸਾਫ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਤੇ ਕਨੂੰਨ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਵਿਖਾਓ। 

 ਪਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ donation ਮੰਗਣ ਦੇ ਹੀ letter ਆਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ  ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ issue ਨੂੰ address ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।  ਮੈਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ special permission ਜੋ ਕੇ Canadian Electrical Code  ਵਿਚ provision ਹੈ  ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਮੈਂ safety ਨੂੰ assure ਕਰਾਂਗਾ  overcurrent devices rating adjust ਕਰਕੇ । 

Municipal  ਅਤੇ  Provincial  level  ਤੇ  ਦੋ issue  report ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ।    ਇੱਕ ਤੇ ਇਹ  ਸੀ ਕੇ  ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ   ਕੰਪਨੀ  Khabra Electric Ltd  ਦੇ ਨਾਮ  Online Permit Apply ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।   File  E 2021-010255  If an online service is designed to provide services to local contractors because they Pay License fee and Permit fee. In normal cases we do not even need to call the department. And if there is reason to cancel the permit you have to provide reason why it was cancelled. ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਕਾਰਨ ਪੁੱਛਦਾ ਹਾਂ  ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ officer ਜਾ  representative ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਅਜੇ ਤੱਕ।  

ਦੂਜਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ   Solar System  ਜੋ ਕੇ OFFGRID Solar System  category ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।  ਜੋ   Canadian Electrical Code  ਵਿੱਚ  ਨਿਯਮ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਉਹ  GRID  TIED  Solar  System ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖਕੇ  ਇਸ Intent ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਕਿ  High voltage  Utility Company ਦੇ System  ਨੂੰ damage ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।  ਇਹ ਸਿਸਟਮ  400 volt  10,000 watt  ਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦਕਿ  ਮੇਰਾ System  40 Volt  600 watt  ਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕੇ Utility  ਕੰਪਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਜਲੀ   Supply  ਕਰਨ ਦੀ  ਬਜਾਏ  battery  ਵਿਚ ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਤੇ  Power Fail ਹੋਣ ਤੇ  Selective Load  ਨੂੰ Run ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ।  ਇਹ  ਧੁੱਪ ਵਾਲੇ  ਦਿਨ  2 Kilowatt ਪ੍ਰਤੀ  ਦਿਨ  ਸਟੋਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।  

Canadian  Electrical Code  ਧਾਰਾ  2-032  ਦੇ  ਅਧੀਨ Deviation ਜਾਣੀ ਕਿ (Special Permission )  application ਭੇਜੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਜਵਾਬ ਮੈਨੂੰ  ਲਿਖਤੀ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਫੋਨ ਤੇ ਝਿੜਕਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ design  ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਖ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ  In February 2021, the state of Texas suffered a major power crisis . 

After paying about $400 license fee and $300 permit fee I did not got even a single complete inspection after 18 Months. If it was other person this job would have been done without pulling a permit . I want to follw Law and order.

After they failed my Inspection they asked me a very interesting question. 

Does this feed into the main panel (The panel connect to Utility Connection) ??

Please look at the permit and picture sent by us "It is an OFFGRID SOLAR SYSTEM and by definition it does not supply to Utility or connects to main panel.

Now I question the Inspection department that City of Burnaby  allows to build a legal In Law suite because they know that otherwise people will do it without pulling a permit which is not safer for the residents of the  City. Now count all those basements in Edmonton that are build without pulling a permit and was never inspected. What is the Purpose of the initial inspection of the house when it was built??

Why you make people thieves ? Why not allow them to legally build a secondary suite?

Safety  Codes are written with Intent to assure Safety. Every Code has an intent. For example "all connections must be made in a enclosed box" the intent behind this is any spark must not escape out of the box. But if box is deeper in the drywall more than 1/4th inch it does not serve the intent and we have to install a extension ring to ensure that any spark is contained.
